In a strange reversal of roles architecture appropriates what has always been its secret desire - fashion - to overcome its own image. The project was inspired by a recent project by OH Lab: a peculiar 85 square meter house, perched a top an eight storey building, in the center of Madrid. Hidden from view from the street, and for all intents and purposes, from the other inhabitants of the buildings, the project allows for an unexpected set of potentials to occur, inspired by a set of perverse spatial conditions and adjacencies. Rather than framing device or fetishised as object, architecture becomes enacted as a series of desires, hidden moments, at once perverse, intimate, hidden, latent with potential.
Urban Intimacies is a collaborative project by architects Paloma Hernaiz and Jaime Oliver, directors of OH, architecture and urban strategy, photographers
